Historic Smithville Documentaries

Back in the spring of 2016 the Burlington County Historical Society reached out to Stokes for assistance on a very unique documentary. Our task was to make six individual videos that highlight the legacy of Smithville. The videos highlight the life of the Pioneer of the Industrial Revolution, Hezekiah Bradley Smith, and the empire that was Smithville, New Jersey. Hezekiah had a fascinating life story, and it was perfectly portrayed throughout the documentary by our award-winning video production team – showcasing the most important moments and emotional roller coaster story of his career and personal life. Smithville is unique because everyone that lived there was an industrial worker at factories or mills.

The most interesting aspect about the Smithville documentaries was the fact that they were so different from most of the transportation and construction documentation projects typically done at Stokes. The production crew also used some captivating parallax photo effects throughout the documentaries to give the historical photos a three-dimensional look and bring the old black and white images back to life. The videos are shown at the Smithville Mansion Museum’s visitor center at individual kiosks where the visitor can push a button to see the video at different display stations.
