Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project

The Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project is being undertaken to alleviate recurring current and future traffic congestion and upgrade safety and traffic/operational conditions on the Scudder Falls (I-95) Bridge and adjoining highway segments in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Advanced by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, the multi-year project will replace the heavily congested, accident-prone Scudder Falls Bridge – impacting thousands of daily commuters on I-95, as well as communities contiguous to the 4.4-mile project area.

During the previous design phase, the project’s outreach initiative focused on All-Electronic Toll research and messaging. Since the beginning of project construction in 2017, outreach efforts have focused on informing the public regarding activities occurring on a day-to-day basis. The outreach team has engaged with motorists, commuters, and commercial entities that rely on the bridge for travel and informed them through a robust community outreach and public involvement program which will continue through 2021.

Stokes is supporting the Commission’s extensive outreach initiatives by disseminating information to the public, developing clear messaging, coordinating public outreach meetings and designing print materials. These products include boards, handouts, questionnaires and public information videos.

Stokes works to develop rich and engaging content which is used to update the website and print material for public meetings. Stokes has also developed a strong working relationship with the project owner, solving many communications challenges on the project in a smooth and productive manner.
