Project Experience

The Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing Project (New NY Bridge Project)
New York State Thruway Authority
Stokes Creative Group, Inc. partnered with design-build team Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC to aid in the public outreach efforts of the New York State Thruway Authority’s $3.9 billion project to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge, known as The New NY Bridge project. Stokes was responsible for creating an open and transparent image for the Thruway Authority; thereby keeping the public and Stakeholders of New York’s lower Hudson Valley connected to, engaged in and informed of the bridge’s progress, events and activities during the life of this historic fiveyear project. Stokes created a range of communication packages to assist the Thruway Authority with building a positive image of the project and reaching its targeted audience. Through the use of monthly newsletters and quarterly magazines, weekly press releases, live webcams and environmental monitoring, video and photo updates – the public was kept up-to-date on all project activities.

Purple Line Light Rail Construction Project
2016–2020 PLTC 2020–present MDOT MTA
The Purple Line Light Rail Construction Project, a new 16-mile, 21 station light rail system, is a giant leap forward for modern rail transportation in the Washington Metropolitan Region. Extending from Bethesda to New Carrollton, Maryland, the Purple Line will provide connections with existing transit providers, improving major economic and job center access for commuters. Stokes has proudly supported the public private partnership (P3) design-build (DB) team, as well as the project owner, MDOT MTA on a project that will touch over a thousand properties including the University of Maryland and the prominent Capital Crescent Trail. The outreach portfolio on this project was designed and customized to reach and engage stakeholders from some of the most diverse neighborhoods in Montgomery County to some of the most influential in Prince George’s County. Stokes team is expedient, informed and professional, lessening pressure around the project and creating narratives that focus on the immense economic and cultural benefits of this state-of-the-art light rail service for the region. Stokes is honored to use our exceptional creative and communication skills—to provide innovative public outreach strategies on this multi-billion dollar project.

All-Electronic Tolling Public Information Video
Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise
Our skilled video crew hit the pavement in the Sunshine State several times to create video productions for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. The first production included an 11-minute virtual tour of the entire roadway, which included footage captured using GoPro cameras. The purpose of the virtual tour was to showcase the Florida tolling network and illustrate how the agencies collaborate and how individual communities are impacted. The FTE virtual tour production was also featured in a presentation given by FTE Executive Director Diane Gutierrez- Scaccetti at the IBTTA for the Summit on All-Electronic Tolling, Managed Lanes & Interoperability in Miami, Florida, in 2015. The presentation, produced in both English and Spanish, allowed attendees to see a clear picture of how Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise stays on the road to success.

Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project
Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission
The Stokes outreach team has engaged with motorists, commuters and commercial entities that rely on the bridge for travel and informed them through a robust community outreach and public involvement program – which will continue through 2021. Stokes is supporting the Commission’s extensive outreach initiatives by disseminating information to the public, developing clear messaging, coordinating public outreach meetings and designing print materials. These products include boards, handouts, questionnaires and public information videos.
