LOCATION
The strategic development plan (SDP) is a consensus-based plan for implementing the first phase of a longer-term investment strategy. The plan is being developed in collaboration with all NEC stakeholders to provide a foundation of technical analysis and knowledge for charting a coordinated, deliberative process for effective financing as well as performance and capacity development.
The SDP also will justify the NEC’s importance and explain future investment needs that support a defined program of capital investments to maintain and improve NEC performance. It will provide analysis and evidence to support a business case for NEC investment that can be used to demonstrate the role of the NEC and its significance to the regional economy transportation network to congressional decision-makers, stakeholders, the business community, and the public.

Branding – Working with a large group, we distilled the brand elements that would be the symbol of the report, including color palette, logo, and interplay of text elements.
Graphic design and illustration – We developed stylistic maps and other infographic items to be used as part of the report. We also completed graphic elements to support the website.
Presentation elements – We designed and prepared PowerPoint presentations and other similarly branded elements to be used for the regional exploratory meetings.
Website/interactive elements – We created a webpage in the Northeast Corridor Commission website to showcase the SDP featuring text information, an interactive map of the project’s territories, and an accompanying brochure presented in a flipbook style. Interactive pages were created to support the project as well as change the way the reports are shown to viewers.
As part of the AECOM team, Stokes’ mission was to bring a fresh and creative approach to making the Northeast Corridor Commission (NEC) Strategic Development Plan a document that is easily digested and understood, featuring visuals and infographic elements to help tell the story.
