Manhattan Avenue Retaining Wall Local Concept Development Study

Stokes Creative Group, Inc. partnered with French & Parrello Associates (FPA) in 2018 to complete an LCD study for NJTPA in Union City, New Jersey. The goal of this study was to identify how to improve the wall’s structural deficiencies and maintain the road — an important transportation connection for residents and commuters in Hudson County who travel to and from locations including Hoboken, Union City, the Lincoln Tunnel and Route 495.

What we Did

For this study, Stokes was responsible for handling all of the community outreach including the creation and maintenance of the project website (available at www.manhattanavenuewall.com) and Twitter account (@ManhattanAvWall), in addition to developing and executing a robust public involvement plan throughout the project. Stokes led several stakeholder and public information center meetings, and supported the team with press efforts/media relations and flyers to promote engagement.

Key Features And Notable outcomes

As the project wrapped up, Stokes compiled many survey responses, obtained resolutions of support, and assisted FPA with the final report.
