The Purple Line Light Rail is a new 16-mile, 21-station light rail system extending from Bethesda to New Carrollton, Maryland. Stokes has proudly supported the public-private partnership (P3) design-build (DB) team, as well as the project owner, MDOT MTA on a project that will touch over a thousand properties, including the University of Maryland and the prominent Capital Crescent Trail.

This project’s outreach program has been designed and customized to reach and engage stakeholders from some of the most diverse neighborhoods in Montgomery County to some of the most influential in Prince George’s County.
The program includes an interactive project website, construction impact notifications, and detour notices, as well as coordination with WMATA for commuter impacts, state highways for state road impacts, both Prince George’s and Montgomery counties and the many business and community organizations for construction impacts.
The program also supports a community advisory team program which meets regularly to discuss upcoming construction efforts. Stokes also promotes the project with high-quality video and photography social media content.
Stokes delivers comprehensive outreach through an interactive project website, design of impact notifications and detour alerts, and coordination with WMATA, state highway agencies, and local business and community organizations. It also includes a community advisory team to review upcoming construction activities.
