The purpose of this project was to update the existing master plan, completed in 2006, in order to guide further investment and development in Philadelphia Riverfront Trails, Parks and Neighborhood Connectors north of Allegheny Avenue along the Delaware River. Since the original master plan’s adoption in 2006, many things changed, including the development environment of the local neighborhoods. The updated master plan reflects current changes and future development of the surrounding communities.

Stokes supported NV5 and Riverfront North’s efforts in bridging the gap between technical information and public understanding through clear and precise messaging outlined in a comprehensive Public Involvement Action Plan (PIAP). Elements of the plan included organizing and supporting two rounds of public meetings, developing and printing an informational flyer and posters for the trails, press release and media relations to receive positive journalism about the project, and thorough meeting summary reports for the project team to incorporate into their updated plan.
Both rounds of meetings yielded a high number of participants, multiple articles in local news outlets and most importantly, provided ample feedback from the public regarding the future investment and development of the area.
